But the girl’s vision began to deteriorate - she had to retrain as a telephone operator. Under continuous fire, Tatyana restored the damaged telephone connection many times. One day, on instructions from the commander, she went to enemy lines, where, together with her comrades, she encountered the enemy. Baramzina fired back to the last. But she was captured. Tatyana was brutally tortured before her death: her eyes were gouged out, her breasts were cut off, and then she was shot from an anti-tank gun. She was identified only by fragments of clothing and hair. She was only 24 years old. In 1945, Tatyana Baramzina was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously.

Partisan Lisa Chaikina

During the war, an ordinary librarian Lisa Chaikina organized a partisan detachment of 70 fellow villagers. Lisa had excellent command of weapons and had excellent knowledge of the terrain. It was thanks to these skills that she stole information valuable for the Soviet army from the Nazis and easily escaped persecution. German soldiers began a real hunt for Lisa. And one day she was crowned with success. On November 22, 1941, Lisa Chaikina went on another reconnaissance mission. On the way, she spent the night with her friend Marusya. But two local residents - a groom and his son - informed the Germans about the whereabouts of the elusive partisan. Marusya herself, her brother and mother were shot immediately, and Lisa was taken prisoner. The girl was tortured for a long time, but she did not betray her comrades. The only thing Chaikina said before her death was “Victory will be ours!” In 1942, Lisa Chaikina was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously. Streets in many Russian cities are named after her.
